After all, breakfast is a fantastic way to indulge in a delicious and indulgent meal without breaking the bank. So, if you're looking to explore the local culinary scene, here are some top breakfast and brunch spots in Isle of Palms that you won't want to miss.

Popular Coffee Shop: The Refuge

For those who can't start their day without a perfect cup of coffee, The Refuge is a must-visit. Known for its locally roasted coffee, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff, this coffee shop offers an array of coffee and espresso drinks, teas, and freshly baked pastries. Their breakfast menu includes delightful options like avocado toast (with an option to add a crab cake) and Surfer Bod Pancakes (Gluten Free!)  Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee to go or settling in for a leisurely breakfast, The Refuge has been a favorite of IOP Escapes guests and locals for years!  Read about their full offerings and why we continually recommend it here.

Quick Grab-and-Go Breakfast: Café Paname

If you're in a hurry but still want a delicious start to your day, Café Paname is the place to go. In addition to locally roasted coffee, this charming café also offers a variety of grab-and-go options, including freshly made croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and fruit parfaits. Their efficient service and quality food make it a perfect stop before heading out for a day of beach activities or exploring the island.  After all, who doesn’t want to start their day with a meal from a restaurant claiming coffee and croissants as their love languages!

Best Brunch and Mimosas: Acme Lowcountry Kitchen

For a leisurely, yet indulgent brunch with friends or family, Acme Lowcountry Kitchen is a top choice. Known for its delicious Southern cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, Acme offers a brunch menu that warrants consideration, planning and daydreaming!  For those who crave a larger, more traditional breakfast creation, we recommend the “Triple Dog Dare!”  - This “Big Mac” of Biscuits comes with sausage, bacon, eggs & cheese, smothered in smoked Gouda Cream with grits, home fries or sliced tomatoes!  For guests wanting a meal more closely resembling a lunch entree - the Fried Pecan Chicken with collard greens, bacon jam, fried eggs & regular grits might be more your speed!Pair your meal with a refreshing mimosa or a local Charleston Bloody Mary for the perfect start to your day. Brunch here is an experience you won't soon forget!

Packed Lunch Services: Sea Biscuit Café

Planning a day out and need a packed lunch? Sea Biscuit Café has you covered. This beloved local spot not only serves a fantastic coffee (Cooper River Roasters) and breakfast options such as Banana Pudding French Toast and Bacon Pepper Onion Quiche, but also offers packed lunch services. Choose from a variety of sandwiches, salads, and sides to create the perfect picnic for your beach day or island adventure. Their attention to detail and fresh ingredients ensure you'll enjoy every bite.  Bonus - with just 48 hours notice, Sea Biscuit Cafe will also fulfill custom cookie, cake and pie orders!

Breakfast All Day: Long Island Café

For almost 30 years, Long Island Café  has welcomed hungry guests with a desire for local, expertly prepared seafood in a casual, laid back beach environment.  While primarily serving guests during lunch and dinner timeframes, we recommend saving a place on Sunday mornings for brunch at this Isle of Palms hot spot!  We’re still trying to decide on our ultimate favorite - Oyster Dupuis Benedict (Fried oysters and grilled ham)  or the fresh lump crab meat omelet!  Long Island Café remains a hit with both locals and visitors alike, and we are happy to recommend it to our guests.

Whether you're looking for a quick coffee, a leisurely brunch, or a packed lunch for your beach day, Isle of Palms has a variety of fantastic breakfast options to suit your needs.
